Concert raffle to benefit Johnson's
LOCKPORT, N.Y. - As local organizations continue to collect donations for the Johnson family, one global band is now joining the effort to show its support.
As part of the Lockport Canal Concert series, Vancouver rock band Theory of A Deadman, signed a guitar to be auctioned off to fans Friday night.
The Johnson family's home in Wilson was leveled Tuesday morning after an explosion that was likely caused by propane.
Friends who knew Sarah Johnson, who died in the explosion, say the guitar raffle is just one way they can give back to a family who gives so much to others.
"She was just the girl to be, almost,” said Kaitlyn Bowers, a friend of the Johnson’s. “She was the girl you saw laughing down the hallway surrounded by all of her friends. At home, she was constantly with her animals. And she was so open to loving everyone and anything."
Bowers says the Johnson's are in high spirits and are grateful for all the support they've been receiving.
