BUFFALO, N.Y. — A 23-year-old Buffalo man is in critical condition at ECMC after he was shot in the street by a teenager riding a bike.

According to police, the incident happened just before 5:30 Wednesday afternoon in the 200 block of Sumner Place.

Police say Jeremy Thomas was walking down the street when he was shot. Immediately afterward, they say the suspect fled on his bike toward Walden Avenue.

The victim's cousin said he saw him about 20 minutes before the shooting happened.

"It's got to stop,” said Alonzo Gordon. “When is it going to stop? With all this 'stop snitching and snitches getting stitches," you know, we need to start snitching, because I'm getting sick and tired of this stuff."

The victim was taken to ECMC.

The suspect is a black male in his teens.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Buffalo Police confidential tip-call line at 716-847-2255.
