Man charged with selling counterfeit New Era caps at Fashion Outlets
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — An Amherst man faces felony charges after investigators say he was selling counterfeit New Era caps at the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls.
Weiliang Chen, 31, faces one count of Trademark Counterfeiting in the second degree.
On Wednesday, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office and Town of Niagara Police recovered more than 200 counterfeit New Era and other sports related caps being sold at the Outlets. Investigators say the retail value of the caps was more than $6,000.
Chen was arraigned in Town of Niagara Court and bail was set at $5,000.
