JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The 11th annual Strider Claus was held in Jamestown Monday afternoon. It's a holiday event hosted by the Chautauqua Striders program.

Almost 200 lucky kids got the chance to shop for a gift for each of their family members, allowing children the ability to shop on their own for items that were donated by community members.

"One year we had this 16-year-old young man that came in and walked out with a stack of packages... and he turned to us and said, "Thank you." And he said, "I've never been able to put anything under the tree for my family." And so every year that's made us want to invite more kids, get more people involved," said Deb Kathman, Chautauqua Striders.

They even had volunteers help the kids wrap their gifts.
