CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. — The second season of the Outdoor Channel's Major League Fishing show has already made a big splash and local officials are reeling in the benefits.

Back in August, Chautauqua Lake played host to a "made for TV" fishing competition featuring the world's top bass fishermen.

County tourism officials say, being in the national spotlight for just one week has already shown economic rewards.

"This is probably the most media exposure we've ever had. It means a lot. We've been getting phone calls and emails and inquiries from different tournament organizations that want to come to Chautauqua Lake now. From Texas, from out in Maryland and out on the West Coast," said Craig Robbins, Chautauqua County Sports Fishing and Hunt Promotions Coordinator.

Major League Fishing can be seen weeknights at 7:30 p.m. on The Outdoor Channel.
New episodes air Thursdays at 9 p.m.

The final episode will air on NBC at 1 p.m. on February 9th.
