BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Food Bank of Western New York sold out their annual Sweet Charity fundraiser Thursday.

This is the seventh year Asbury Hall has been home to the wine, food, and beer tasting event. Local vendors provided signature drinks and entrees as guests rushed to bid in the silent auction.

Featured items included signed sports memorabilia and vacations. Organizers say the night was a success.

"We had another sellout year of 850 people purchasing tickets, so we're right on schedule and it's a great benefit to the Food Bank and the Western New York community," said Jerome Bair, Chairperson of the Sweet Charity Committee.

The Food Bank of WNY provides more than 11 million pounds of food annually across four counties. More than 100,000 Western New Yorkers depend on their services; 39 percent of them under 18.
