Body in charred remains of cabin identified as ex-LAPD officer
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — The San Bernardino Sheriff says the body found in a burned out cabin in the mountains east of Los Angeles has been identified as ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner.
Dorner was the subject of a nearly two-week manhunt. He was accused of killing at least four people, including two law enforcement officers.
In a manifesto sent to the media, Dorner said he was targeting police officers after what he called an unfair termination from the force.
Police say Dorner got into a gunfight with officers and deputies trying to apprehend him on Tuesday. That raid ended with the cabin in flames.
There's no word yet on what caused that fire.
