• The all new Gingerbread Village at Turning Stone Resort, Verona, N.Y. has outdone itself again this year! Holiday lights and ornaments light the way throughout the resort, but it's the Gingerbread aroma that'll draw you in! Eight buildings spanning nearly 60 feet of space include a farmhouse, hotel, general store, and an English Tudor house. The resort's head chef and her team are credited with making and using 13,000 individual pieces of gingerbread to creat this year's village. Free to see!
• Head to Niagara Falls, Canada for the annual Winter Festival of Lights all along the Niagara Parkway and into the park. A drive-thru experience made even more exciting right next to the falls! Open each night through January 31, 2013.

• In Lewiston, N.Y., the Fatima Shrine invites visitors to take in the religious spectacle of lights on the expansive grounds. Travel Tip: Climb to the top of the dome for an amazing view! The Festival of Lights is open every night from 5pm to 9pm and it's free to see!
