Crumpton and Weir among five finalists for NY Mr. Basketball
There's a decent chance this year's New York State Mr. Basketball in high school hoops will hail from Western New York, as two of the five finalists come from our area.

Niagara Falls senior forward Jermaine Crumpton, along with Canisius senior wing Adam Weir are both up for the award.

Weir is averaging more than 21 points and nearly eight rebounds a game, while helping the Crusaders to a #1 ranking in the state. They play for the Manhattan Cup title Wednesday against Timon.

Meanwhile, Crumpton averages 20 points and 11 rebounds an outing. His Wolverines will play in the AA semifinals tomorrow night against Ken West.

Both Crumpton and Weir have committed to play college basketball at Canisius.

The Mr. Basketball award will be announced in mid-March.
