BUFFALO, N.Y. — A popular three-on-three basketball tournament in Buffalo is set for this weekend.
The 2012 Gus Macker Charity Basketball Tournament has been moved up this year. It's normally held at the end of June.
Proceeds for the outdoor event in Niagara Square will go to the Police Athletic League of Buffalo, which is also hosting the tournament.
Gus Macker organizers say the three-on-three tournament draws thousands of people to downtown to play, and to watch players compete in more than a thousand games each day.
As a result of the tournament, Delaware is closed from Huron through Niagara Square to West Eagle.
