Crews investigate possible firebombing on Buffalo's east side

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Fire Department is investigating a possible firebombing in the city's University Heights neighborhood.

Crews arrived to find the porch of a home on LaSalle Avenue on fire around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. One person was home at the time, and made it out safely.

Investigators say they could smell gasoline, but the exact cause has not been determined.

Damage is estimated at $6,000.
