TONAWANDA, N.Y. — A vacant house sustained extensive damage following a fire in Tonawanda.
Firefighters responded to a single house fire in the 700 block of Parker Boulevard around 7 p.m. Monday.
Officials say a fire that started in the basement quickly spread to the rest of the house by the time they arrived.
The house had been vacant for two years, and firefighters say it took longer to get the fire under control due clutter in the basement.
No one was hurt, and the cause is under investigation.
