BUFFALO, N.Y. — Firefighters were busy in Friday's heat battling a fire at a vacant house on the upper west side.
Fire crews responded to a two-story house on Cordage Alley. Smoke poured out of the the back of the building.
Firefighters say the narrow alley made it difficult to access the house, and hoses needed to be connected to nearby streets.
Extra crews and water were brought in to help relieve firefighters from the heat.
The fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damages, and the cause is now under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
