A toddler in Genesee County has been reunited with family after briefly going missing.
Genesee County Sheriff's deputies say a three-year old boy's brother reported him missing just after 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
They say the boy was playing in a field near their home Pekin Road in Elba when friends realized he was missing.
Deputies, state police and local fire departments conducted air and ground searches. Authorities they responded quickly because of a number of concerns.
"It looked like we were going to get a thunderstorm, and that, obviously you don't want to lose daylight," says Timothy Wescott of the Genesee County Sheriff's Office. "We've got a lot of corn around here that's approximately eight feet high, the wooded areas and that so, we wanted to try to locate him as quickly as possible."
An hour into the search, the child was found without injury by two deputies in a wooded area. He was reunited with family a short time later.
