BUFFALO, N.Y. — More than 60 people were arrested during "Operation Power Sweep" in Buffalo over the weekend.
Police Commissioner Dan Derenda says officers executed more than 100 search warrants during the drug raids that were carried out across the city on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sixty-three people were taken into custody.
Derenda says eight guns, several types of drugs and $7,000 in cash were seized during the raids.
"Some were very low-level, selling marijuana, but still a nuisance to the neighborhood. Others have ties to gang activity, to violent street gangs," said Derenda.
Derenda says complaints from the community played a vital role in determining problem houses.
