BUFFALO, N.Y. — Spots are filling up fast for this year's YMCA Turkey Trot in the city of Buffalo.
Organizers say they've increased the size of the annual Thanksgiving race to 14,000 runners this year, thanks to the use of the Statler City complex to provide for two post-race areas.
The family friendly area will be held at Statler City, while the main party will be at the Buffalo Convention Center.
Anyone on the fence is urged to register this week, as organizers expect it to fill up quickly.
"Once it's sold out, it's sold out," said Kathy Romanowski, YMCA Communications Director. "By early next week we'll definitely be cut off."
Also new to the race this year is a costume contest.
Proceeds from the race stay in the area to support YMCA programs.
