BUFFALO, N.Y. -- People from the Seneca Babcock Community Center came together Saturday evening to raise funds for one of their own.
Hundreds of supporters came to the community center to raise money for the center's executive director Brian Pilarski. Pilarski suffers from an intestinal fistula, a condition that has left a hole in his small intestine. Pilarski, a veteran of the New York Army National Guard, said he is grateful for the support from the community.
"They're all coming out to support me and I realize I do have a wonderful life. They come together to help support me and a lot of them don't even know exactly the details of what's wrong, but they just knew that I needed some help, and they're here," said Pilarski.
Pilarski is fulfilling his duties as executive director from home while he is recovering.
