Sentencing postponed for former City of Buffalo official
A federal judge has postponed sentencing for a former City of Buffalo official who pleaded guilty to stealing money earmarked for urban revitalization.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The United States Attorney's Office is suggesting Timothy Wanamaker receive credit for his cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The former Executive Director of the City's Office of Strategic Planning pleaded guilty to spending about $30,000 obtained from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Campana said information Wanamaker provided will make it more difficult for similar crimes to happen both in Buffalo and Nationwide.
But the judge said he needed a more clear answer as to whether the City of Buffalo was still under investigation.
"The affidavit probably could have been a little bit more detailed," Defense Attorney Jim Harrington said. "The government is going to supplement that affidavit and I'm confident that once they do that the judge will see what it is that Tim did and hopefully the judge will go along with what they are asking and what I'm asking."
Sentencing has been rescheduled for next month. If the judge takes the prosecution's recommendation Wanamaker could face no jail time with a maximum of six months. The charge carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison.
