JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — UB's School of Dental Medicine unveiled the new "Smiles To Go" mobile dental clinic Thursday in Jamestown. It will replace the old dental van and will continue to serve the oral health needs of children in Chautauqua County.

The three-chair dental unit features state-of-the-art equipment, including digital x-rays, electronic medical records, and an educational area.

The traveling dental program has been serving the kids in the Chautauqua region for 15 years.

"The other vehicle was a two unit; this is three units and can provide many other types of services within the same set up, so we will be able to increase our services by more than 50 percent," said Michael Glick, UB School of Dental Medicine Dean.

The mobile clinic took 16 months to build and cost more than $500,000.
