LOCKPORT, N.Y.-- While many organizations host turkey drives as Thanksgiving nears, one group in Lockport is going back to basics.

A group of volunteers led by Niagara County Court Officer Pete Robinson is holding its third annual peanut butter and jelly drive to benefit local food pantries across Western New York.

Organizers say pantries can never keep shelves stocked with enough PB&J, especially around the holidays, and Robinson says his group's main goal is to help people in need.

"The people in this area, they give abundantly,” said Robinson. “They give out of the poorness that they have. But these guys give past the point of hurting. This area gives past the point of hurting."

The drive raised thousands of jars of PB&J, along with marshmallow fluff, in each of its first two years.
