Demolition of Deaconess Center underway
BUFFALO, N.Y. — The teardown of the Deaconess Center began Monday. Demolition of the former skilled nursing facility started in its boiler house.
The building will become a Community Action Organization headquarters.
Kaleida Health officials say the project will take around five months to complete.
The Deaconess Center closed earlier this year and was consolidated with Kaleida's new center, Highpointe on Michigan, on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
