MARILLA, N.Y. — A woman hit by a car last night in Marilla remains in critical condition this morning.

It happened around 7 p.m. Monday night on Two Rod Road.

State police say Sandra Chandler, 67, was trying to cross Two Rod Road to get her mail when she was hit by a car.

Chandler was thrown 25 feet and landed in a ditch.

She was taken by Mercy Flight to ECMC where she remains seriously injured.

Police say it was very dark out at the time and the driver of the car is not expected to face charges.
