CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- The terminal at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport is bustling during the holiday travel week and passengers coming in and out have a new business to stop at, the new Visit Buffalo Niagara Visitor Center.
"Our goal to this store is to service people who are coming into the market and get them around to where they need to be and tell them about all the great things that are happening here," said Visit Buffalo Niagara President & CEO Dottie Gallagher-Cohen.
The visitor center features Buffalo themed merchandise, locally made products, and it's staffed with people full of knowledge of Western New York. Officials hope it will help people discover the many things to do around town.
The visitor center had a soft open months ago but it is now at full capacity.
Gallagher-Cohen said, "In the month of August we serviced the same number of visitors at this store than we do all year in our downtown visitors center. It's been a home run."
Any profits from the center will be reinvested into the Visit Buffalo Niagara marketing campaign.
The shop is open 7 days a week and is located inside the secure area of the airport.
