Man pleads guilty to food stamp fraud
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to receiving nearly $150,000 through food stamp fraud. Riyadh Almadrahi, 34, pleaded guilty in US District Court Wednesday morning.
He is charged with exchanging food stamp benefits for cash out of the deli Zip's Food and Beverage on Niagara Street. Almadrahi made around $144,000 through the fraudulent transactions.
He faces 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 when sentenced in March.
