CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. — CSEA workers at the County Home say they're willing to negotiate with the county executive.

A CSEA representative addressed the Chautauqua County Legislature Wednesday evening.

County Home employees are able to negotiate separately from the rest of the union, but only if the recommendations from a recent research report are implemented. That includes the county putting up $1.6 million, which would be equally matched by state and federal funding.

"It is important that these negotiations be done hand in hand with full funding of the home, including IGT match," said Bonnie Peters, CSEA Unit 6300.

"If we agree to that, as the letter states, then they'll talk about making proposals to change work roles otherwise," said Greg Edwards, (R), Chautauqua County Executive.

Edwards says even though the contract to sell the home is almost complete, he will still consider the offer and have a formal response.
