NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. — Police are looking at drunk driving as a possible cause of a crash that knocked power out for hundreds of people early Friday morning.

Police in North Tonawanda say the crash happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday on River Road in between Witmer and Liberty Drive.

The road was shut down for part of the overnight as crews repaired power lines that were damaged in the crash.

One man was taken to ECMC. No word on his injuries or if any charges have been filed.

Power was restored just before 6 a.m. to the area.
