Firefighters put out two vacant house fires overnight
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Firefighters were busy overnight, fighting two fires in vacant buildings.

Fire started at a vacant house at 23 Gibson Street near Memorial Avenue in the Broadway-Fillmore area of Buffalo early Tuesday morning.

The fire is under investigation. Damage is estimated at $25,000.

Firefighters were also called out to a fire at vacant storefront on French Street near Kehr Street.

Thick smoke from the building could be seen for blocks, but the fire was quickly under control.

No one was injured. That fire is also under investigation.
