City council holds moment of silence for Connecticut shooting victims
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — City officials in Jamestown paid their respects to the victims of the Connecticut school shooting during a city council voting session Monday night.

A moment of silence was observed at the beginning of the meeting, and at the end of the meeting some members of council expressed their thoughts and concerns about the tragedy.

"I think one of the biggest things is we need to bring back the school resource officers. Too many districts that need them don't have them now because of financial issues," said Stephen Szwejbka, (I).

Szwejbka is also calling on federal leaders for stricter gun laws.
