One local couple will have something extra to celebrate this holiday season.
Jesse Fenton of Buffalo surprised his girlfriend, Roopa Shanbhag of Amherst, by proposing to her while they went through the Festival of Lights at the Erie County Fairgrounds Saturday night.
The couple has been together for two years.
The bride-to-be says the surprise was nearly ruined when she began receiving congratulatory texts a few days ago.
