BUFFALO, N.Y. — A man was rescued from a burning house in Buffalo on Thursday.

Fire officials say when crews arrived at a Dodge Street home, a man was trapped on the second floor, with fire coming from the first floor.

Firefighters set up a ladder, rescued the man, who is unharmed, and put out the fire.

Officials say the fire started on the first floor and spread to the second floor.

Meantime, a responding fire truck got into an accident several blocks away. The truck was hit by another car. No injures were reported.

The was minor damage to the fire truck. Charges are pending against the driver of the car.

"Throw that much snow in the street. It slows things down. It makes it a little more dangerous to get here, and it makes it harder to operate at the scene of the fire," said Battalion Chief Peter Kertzie.

Damage to the house is estimated at $135,000. The eight people living here are being assisted by Red Cross.
