Record revenue seen for New York Lottery in 2012
New Yorkers chased a lot of dreams in 2012, plunking down more than $9 billion on the lottery.
The state reports a record $9.1 billion was spent on lotto games. Several large Powerball jackpots contributed to the cash windfall, including a nearly $600 million prize in November.
Revenue from racinos such as the Hamburg Casino at the Fairgrounds are included in that total.
