BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Snow, cold, blizzard-like conditions. Quite the typical scene in Western New York during the month of January.

But not this weekend.

"This is great, perfect, perfect," said Chantelle Brown of Buffalo.

YNN Meteorologist Brooke Zegarelli said, "We're going to get a couple nice days right now. Today and tomorrow, temperatures will be in the 50's to maybe around 60 degrees."

Western New Yorkers got a break from the freezing cold, as Zegarelli said a warm front moved through the area overnight.

"They warmed up quite a bit overnight and they're going to keep warming up throughout today," Zegarelli explained. "With that south westerly flow that's bringing in warm air from the south states."

Mother Nature's change in weather was a welcomed surprise for many.

"Oh it's fabulous! I'm on my second time around the park. It's a gift," exclaimed a resident.

Zegarelli said the warmth is not expected to stick around and temperatures will drop back down to the teens, even single digits. That only means one thing..

"You think that the snow needs to come back?" 'No,' exclaimed a nine year old.

So enjoy the sunshine while you can.

"Come out and enjoy it, you'll like it," exclaimed Brown.
