Man shot by officer after attack on police in Buffalo
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Eight people were arrested after an overnight shooting in Buffalo.
During the ordeal, a police officer accidentally shot a person in the hand.
Police got the call about gunfire around 4:30 a.m. near the 1400 block of East Delavan Avenue. Police say officers had spotted several weapons when a pit bull was let lose to attack them.
An officer shot at the dog, but a bullet ended up striking one of the suspects in the hand.
Eight people were arrested and face a variety of charges, including attempted assault on officers, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
One of the people arrested was younger than 18.
