CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — New Yorkers lined up at the Buffalo Gun Center in Cheektowaga on Tuesday, trying to get their hands on firearms before the law could go into effect.
People were in line outside for up to a half-hour.
Gun owners we spoke to say that they're being singled out.
"I think it's a shame they took away our rights because a few people went haywire. I don't see them taking away the rights to buy alcohol and alcohol kills a lot more people than firearms ever will. Drunk drivers kill people every day," said Tim McMurtree.
Many people against the law say the outcome will only hurt responsible gun owners.
