OLEAN, N.Y. — The Olean School Board has sold off the two elementary school buildings it closed last year.

The board approved Community Bank NA's bid of $205,000 for the Ivers J. Norton Elementary building Tuesday.

The sale of the Boardmanville Elementary building to the Panico family was approved a few months ago.

The next step is to put both sales up for public vote.

"At this time, we're thinking that it could be packaged in our May vote so that there is no additional cost to the district," said Ira Katzenstein, Olean School Board President.

Officials say Community Bank plans to use the building as a business office and wants to hire more people to work there.
