Lance Armstrong Admits to Doping
With one word, the biggest star in cycling announced to the world what some people had suspected for years.

With a yes, Lance Armstrong admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs when he won seven Tour de France titles.

Armstrong said in his one-on-one interview with Oprah Winfrey that he began doping back in the mid-90s. He says he used the hormone known as EPO, as well as blood transfusions, testosterone and cortisone to get ahead.

"You overcome the disease, you win the Tour de France seven times, you have a happy marriage, you have children. I mean it's just this mythic, perfect story, and it wasn't true," he said.

Despite some reports, Armstrong says he never doped after 2005, when he first retired.
He rode in two Tours after that, finishing 3rd in 2009.
