Snow continues to pile up

By: YNN Staff

Snow continues to pile up
Cold temperatures and winter weather continues all across Western New York.

Snow continued to fall throughout the day Wednesday in parts of Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and southern Erie counties. In some spots, snow fall totals are already nearly two feet.

A lake effect snow warning there is expected to expire at midnight.

Emergency responders are reminding drivers to pay attention to the conditions when they're behind the wheel, as whiteout conditions can come at anytime in a lake effect snow band.

Frostbite Warning

Those cold temperatures have forced the New York State Podiatric Medical Association to issue a frostbite warning for the entire state.

Doctors say that anyone over 65, those who have diabetes or poor circulation and children under 13 should remain indoors as much as possible, or limit time outside to no more than 20 minutes.

Frostbite and hypothermia can set in within a few minutes on any uncovered skin, so make sure your skin is covered.
