CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. — Cockaigne Ski Resort remains closed two years after a devastating fire burned down the main lodge.
A spokesman for the resort says the owner retired after the fire and did not want to rebuild.
A skeleton crew has been maintaining the facility in case an offer to purchase the resort is accepted.
"At this point, we are not in serious discussions with any particular entity, although there are a couple of entities that are in the preliminary process of reviewing financial information and background information," said Andrew Goodell, Cockaigne spokesman.
The owner is asking $500,000 for the property and all of the equipment.
