Tractor trailer crashes and spills grapes across roadway
WHEATFIELD, N.Y. — Crews spent a good part of Saturday cleaning up a road in Wheatfield after a tractor trailer tipped over, spilling thousands of pounds of grapes.

According to deputies with the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, the Ontario truck was driving down Shawnee Road when it crossed the road and hit a pole around 3 a.m. Saturday.

The trailer tipped over, spilling around 24,000 pounds of grapes onto the ground.

The driver wasn't injured.

Shawnee Road was closed between Niagara Falls Boulevard and Mapleton Road all morning through the afternoon while the mess was cleaned up.
