JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The renovation of the Erie Lackawanna Train Station and greener energy were among the highlights discussed in the Jamestown State of the City Address on Monday.

Mayor Sam Teresi highlighted several projects, including the station and the pending conversion from coal to natural gas at the city power plant, but the big message was directed toward unfunded mandates and restrictions from Albany.

"What we are asking is for the state to give us the authority and the tools to become more creative, efficient, productive, leaner, and effective. And, if this can be done, we at the local level will not merely cap, but will lower the highest property tax burden in the nation and make New York State and even more attractive place in which to invest and live," said Teresi, (D).
