JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Mayor Sam Teresi has nominated city councilman Vince DeJoy to be the new Executive Secretary of the Jamestown Urban Renewal Agency, replacing the retiring Steve Centi.

The role also includes being the Director of Development for the city. He will have to resign from city council before council can approve his appointment.

DeJoy says he's excited to work together with other development groups.

"Collaboration with public agencies, private agencies, foundations, civic groups within the city... I think all working together that we will basically do the things that need to be done to make Jamestown the place that we know it can and should be," said DeJoy, Exec. Sec. of JURA and Dir. of Development Nominee.

Council is expected to approve the appointment at its next voting session on February 25th. The mayor will then have to appoint a new registered Democrat to fill the remainder of DeJoy's council term.
