Collins man arrested after drug-fueled high-speed chase
CHERRY CREEK, N.Y. -- A Collins man is in jail after leading police on a high-speed chase in Chautauqua County on Saturday night.
State Police said they saw 31-year-old Donald Pfaffenbach parked at the D.O.T. salt barn in Cherry Creek about 8:15 pm. He fled on Route 68 and drove as fast as 90 mph as police chased him for nine miles. He then stopped on Center Road and ran. He was caught a short time later.
Police say he told them he took heroin at the barn and needed medical attention. He taken to the county jail after being treated at Brooks Memorial Hospital. He faces numerous charges, including resisting arrest, fleeing an officer and DWAI.
