RUSHFORD, N.Y. -- An elderly woman is dead following an accident in the town of Rushford.

State Police said Mildred Holzborn, 98, was pronounced dead at Jones Memorial Hospital after an accident on State Road 243 Wednesday afternoon.

Troopers said a car was attempting to turn onto County Route 23 when it crashed into the car Holzborn was a passenger in.

The drivers of both vehicles were treated and released from Jones Memorial.

An investigation is underway.
